A catalogue without its blister packaging is used, second-hand, third-hand, or older, and has much lower market and investment value. A used book has its limits, boundaries not to be crossed; this is especially true for collections.
Compare the prices of comparable items: is it not absurd, or even upside down, to compare the price of an old used item with a complete, high-end new one? For any careful and demanding collector, this is obvious and easy to understand!
