Translation: Head of nymph facing left, wearing a headband and a triple earring pendant. Nude young man on horseback facing right, crowning the horse raising its left foreleg.

TA behind, dolphin facing left under the horse, bunch of grapes on the right. This type is very rare and dates back to the mid-3rd century BC. It was minted in a workshop in the Campania or Lucania region. The peculiarity of this coin is that it does not depict Taras riding a dolphin as usual, while the nude rider is found on the reverse side. On the obverse, there is a nymph similar to the types minted in Neapolis.

Furthermore, it does not conform to the weight standard of Tarentum, being 0.8g lighter, which corresponds to a standard of the cities on the west coast of Italy. However, the question of where these coins were minted and which region they were intended for has been addressed by J.
