Rare 1999 French 10-Cent Coin with Fine Ridges. This coin was struck with fine ridges instead of coarse grooves. After France had begun production, the European Commission decided to replace the fine ridges with coarse grooves because blind people could not distinguish the fine ridges by touch. The one million coins already minted were destroyed, but a few escaped destruction.
